Haul | Sale Items from Joy and Urban Outfitters

As I mentioned in my New Look Haul post I’m not much of a sale shopper. However my boyfriend bought me a few bits and pieces for Christmas from a new store which opened in Glasgow recently called Joy. He bought me homeware/gift things but mentioned that they mainly sold clothing and that it was right up my street. On boxing day I was checking out their sale items online and ended up buying a few bits.

If you haven’t heard of Joy before, they sell vintage and retro inspired clothing which I am all over. I do buy the odd thing from vintage and secondhand stores, but often the items are damaged in some way, smell bad or fit poorly and need some sort of work done to them. If you can’t be bothered with all that faff but still love the vintage look then stores like Joy are a godsend.

So here’s what I ordered...

Soaked in Luxury Roy Sweetheart Pleated Dress

Louch Leroy Check Shirt Dress

Louche Julita Floral Print Dress | Louche Bonita Hawaiian Sundress
Louche Olive Scallop Dress
Louch Murphy Shirt
Apologies for the creasing in these photos. I took everything straight out of the packaging and photographed it without giving anything a quick iron first because I’m very lazy! Seeing these items on a hanger really doesn’t do them justice but I’m sure I’ll be featuring them in an OOTD post soon enough.

I was really impressed with the quality of everything I got from Joy. It was significantly better than a lot of high street stores. I’d liken the quality to the higher price range items at Zara.

My final little sale item for this haul post is from Urban Outfitters. I didn’t actually go looking for any sale bargains from UO. I got an email from them which I clicked on and before I knew it I’d bought a handbag in the sale! I do love a grosgrain textured bag and I think black and brown look great together, so I don’t feel guilty at all about this impulse purchase!

Have any of you ever bought anything from Joy?

  1. I really like some of the clothes in Joy but I bought a dress a wee while ago and although I love it I noticed that they don't offer refunds, and whilst I love my dress I usually like to buy stuff and take it home and live with it - so shops that don't offer refunds are ones I try to avoid to stop any regrets of impulse purchases happening!

    1. Whaaaat that's crazy!! I never even thought to check the refund policy so I'm glad everything fit ok. I never try anything on in the shop. It's always too busy and hot and I'm just blatantly lazy. I always try things on at home about 2 weeks after I've bought them!

  3. I was thinking of having a little look on the website, for research purposes if course, but the no refund thing is s bit if a worry, especially for the odd shaped person such as myself...
Love everything you purchased though, what luck everything was a keeper!

    1. I just checked the website and apparently you have 14 days to return something for a full refund if your aren't satisfied. That's a bit stingy these days, most are 30 days. Better than nothing though! x
